As humanity works overtime to scrub off the scent of pandemic era which rampaged the entertainment industry and threatened a devastating resurgence, we’ve all witnessed a boom in outdoor activities globally and in Sierra Leone.

Entertainers and musicians are not left out of this and have doubled down to create soundtracks to support the wave and thanks to this, we’ve had a sonically hotter year, with the airwaves taken captive by banger tracks after banger tracks.

Last year 2021, Sierraloaded started the Hottest Artiste List, an undiluted run down of the Artistes that shaped, defined and led music among Sierra Leonean consumers throughout the year.

Innocent – #9

Prince Kuti George, popularly known as Innocent is a cut out from a different cloth. From his music to his brand and even his artistry, he is one that has set himself apart from the crowd.

Innocent is highly regarded for his social commentary songs, sweet rhyme schemes, melodies, and his versatility to do any genre of music, including rap, afropop, RnB, dancehall/raggae and many more! It’s little wonder the Money Making Machines (MMM) CEO was honoured as member of the Order Of The Rokel for his outstanding contribution to music in Sierra Leone.

After ending 2021 with the hit song “Mumu”, Innocent kickstarted the second quarter of 2022 with “Money Stops Nonsense”, another afropop/afrosoul sensational rhythmic ballad which inevitably became a hit. He then proceeded to give us “Are You Mad or Something” and “Holy” which are currently blazing the music airwaves in Sierra Leone and globally.

In addition, Innocent laced his vocals on hit singles like ‘Lay Belleh’ by Atical 4yoh, ‘Hang Over’ by Martin B, ‘Zombie’ by King SL Zee and most recently Jakey Jake’s ‘Wish’. In 2022, He took his music to United States of America, Turkey, England and Germany performing and gracing stages before many packed-out audiences.

To cap off an already great year, the Son of Kuti will perform alongside Nigeria and Africa’s most celebrated singers, P-Square and Otile Brown in an Afrobeats Invasion concert in Germany.

Surely, 2022 will go down as the year when Innocent’s name transcended yet again to one of the most defining artists in the music sphere. To this end, He is the 9th Hottest Artiste in Sierra Leone 2022.
