Prominent legal practitioner, lecturer, and human rights advocate, Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, has described his recent visit to his farm as an enjoyable respite from the often turbulent world of politics.

Following a trip to his agricultural venture on Monday, April 1st, 2025, Dr. Saffa shared his experience on social media, highlighting the stark contrast between the nurturing environment of his farm and the contentious nature of the political arena.

In a video shared online, the Abdulai who also doubles as the executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA) was seen affectionately feeding a large flock of chicks. Accompanying the visuals, a caption quoted Dr. Saffa saying, “I joined my workers to feed them, and they fought for space on the trays where I placed their food.”

Dr. Saffa elaborated on his sentiments, stating that his time spent on the farm provided a welcome break from the “harsh politics of the city, where friends have become enemies and enemies have become friends.”

Beyond personal enjoyment, the Human Rights Advocate emphasized the significance of his farming endeavors as a contribution to the nation’s development. He affirmed that his efforts in agriculture are aimed at supporting President Bio’s “Big Five Change Initiatives,” specifically the “Feed Salone Agenda” and “Empowerment Opportunities.” Dr. Saffa framed his agricultural work as a tangible way of feeding the people of Sierra Leone and contributing to the country’s progress.

In a thought-provoking statement, Dr. Saffa posed a direct question to public officials who rely solely on their office for sustenance without engaging in other productive activities. “What about you? Aside from your public office, what else are you doing?” he inquired, prompting reflection on broader contributions to national growth beyond official roles.
