The Sierra Leone Grammar School (SLGS) is preparing to celebrate its 180th anniversary on March 25, 2025, with Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Commissioner, Francis Ben Kaifala, slated to deliver a keynote address.
Founded on March 25, 1845, SLGS, one of Sierra Leone’s oldest and most prestigious educational institutions, has a rich history of academic excellence and has produced numerous distinguished alumni who have made significant contributions to the nation and beyond.
Commissioner Kaifala, an alumnus of SLGS, expressed his enthusiasm for participating in the landmark celebration. “I will be speaking to the students and old boys of the school, so I am honored to be back to the school as a speaker and also a greater honor that I’m speaking on the 180 anniversary,” he stated. “I look forward to it and I’m sure it’s going to be wonderful.”
During his address, Kaifala will reflect on the school’s enduring legacy and its role in shaping future leaders. The anniversary event will provide an opportunity for students, alumni, and faculty to commemorate the institution’s storied past and its continued commitment to providing quality education.
The celebration is expected to draw a large gathering of alumni, teachers, students, and members of the public, all coming together to recognize the school’s profound impact on Sierra Leone’s educational landscape.
