Patrick Sandi, the Director of Public Education and External Outreach at the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), addressed corruption allegations involving the Clerk of Parliament, Honorable Paran Tarawallie.
Sandi confirmed in an interview that the ACC is investigating the Clerk of Sierra Leone’s Parliament Paran Tarawallie stating that the application was gathered from different sources which he did not disclose.
According to Sandi, the allegations surround the Clerk employing his wife into office without due process and his wife receiving salaries without working.
He said the ACC commenced the investigations about two to three weeks back and was able to recover one hundred and thirty thousand new leones and the investigation is continuing.
He debunks rumors of the Clerk’s wife receiving thirty-one thousand new leones monthly, confirming that according to the Accountant General office, the wife was receiving seven thousand new leones monthly.
Oh! sierra Leone
Whether she received NLe31,000 or NLe7,000 monthly, it makes no difference; she received money for job she did not do and that’s outright corruption.
Justice must be served and the perpetrators must face the full force of the law. I rest my case.
