The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a formal indictment against Noah Alpha Fornah, Director of Lands for the North-East Region, for alleged corruption.

Fornah faces four charges under the Anti-Corruption Act, including Soliciting an Advantage, Accepting an Advantage, Abuse of Office, and Abuse of Position.

According to the ACC, Fornah, a resident of Karim Drive in Makeni, solicited a bribe from Abu Bakarr Sillah, a private land buyer, through his representative, Alfred Kamara. Fornah allegedly requested Le 20,000 for approving a survey plan related to Sillah’s land purchase and ultimately accepted Le 10,000 from Kamara as an illicit advantage.

The alleged offenses took place between April 4 and October 7, 2024, during Fornah’s tenure as Director of Lands at the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Country Planning. The ACC has announced that the trial will be held in Freetown.

This development marks another high-profile case in the ACC’s ongoing effort to address corruption in Sierra Leone’s public sector. The Commission has reiterated its commitment to tackling corruption across all levels of government to restore public trust and ensure accountability.
