Africell on Tuesday, 25th October 2025, hosted a colorful “Win Kopor” presentation ceremony at its headquarters in Wilberforce, Freetown. The event, which began with prayers, marked another successful edition of one of Africell’s biggest annual promotions.

Speaking at the event, Abdul Karim Sesay, Manager for Media Relations, said five subscribers each won NLe 25,000 as part of this year’s “Win Kopor” draw. He described the promotion as an important tradition that reflects Africell’s commitment to connecting with communities and creating opportunities for its subscribers.

“This promotion is strategically designed to help our subscribers learn and win at the same time. Learning becomes fun,” Sesay said.

He congratulated the winners for their trust in the company, adding that Africell is committed to providing equal opportunities for all. Sesay also highlighted Africell’s 25 years of operation in Sierra Leone.

“Twenty-five years in operation is not twenty-five days. Today is the 25th of November, and we are giving out NLe 25 million each to five people. Welcome to Africell,” he added.

Team Lead for Media Relations, Abdul Aziz Kamara, provided statistics of winners for the year so far, explaining the structure of the daily, weekly, monthly and grand draws.

Daily Winners: 452 winners, each receiving NLe 250, totaling NLe 113,000

Weekly Winners: 25 winners, each receiving NLe 2,500, totaling NLe 62,500

Monthly Winners: 7 winners, each receiving NLe 25,000, totaling NLe 175,000

Grand Winners: 2 winners receiving NLe 250,000 each, totaling NLe 500,000

Abdul Aziz Kamara noted that the “Win Kopor” system allows subscribers to win even without actively participating, describing it as a unique feature of Africell’s promotional strategy.

Nancy Lucia Toure, Events and Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, thanked customers for their loyalty, noting that Africell continues to invest in promotions because of the strong support from its subscriber base.

She reaffirmed the company’s original mission of enabling communication and connecting people, while also emphasizing Africell’s commitment to giving back through promotions and community-centred initiatives.

“We are doing it bit by bit. It is not everyone who will win at the same time, but everyone’s turn will come,” she said.

The winners shared emotional testimonies about their long-term loyalty to Africell:

Abdul Kamara, a winner and also a customer of africell  for 20 years, said he once doubted the authenticity of promotions but now believes in Africell, until today that he won

Abibatu Deen, who also is a winner, she said that she is a a customer  for over 15 years, and her past experiences with scammers made her suspicious until she verified her win through the 111 call center. She encouraged others to remain patient.

Foday Kallon, also a winner said that, he is  a customer for over 20 years, an  expressed joy at winning for the first time.

Michael, a father of four and an Africell subscriber for more than 20 years, described the win as an answered prayer.
