The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Henry Musa Kpaka, is currently participating in the World Food Prize Foundation’s Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue in Iowa, United States.
The high-level forum, held alongside the Global Youth Institute Academic Conference, brings together smallholder farmers, scientists, policymakers, and innovators to discuss regenerative practices and data-driven soil solutions aimed at strengthening global food, nutrition, water, and energy security.
Representing President Julius Maada Bio’s vision for food sovereignty and sustainable growth, Dr. Kpaka is showcasing Sierra Leone’s flagship agricultural transformation agenda, Feed Salone. The initiative seeks to enhance food production, promote innovation, and build resilience within the nation’s agricultural sector.
In his presentation, Dr. Kpaka is highlighting Sierra Leone’s progress in empowering farmers, investing in research, and strengthening value chains.
He also outlined ongoing efforts to improve access to finance for private sector partners and enhance productivity through digital soil mapping, a cutting-edge tool guiding evidence-based decisions for climate resilience and sustainable land management.
The Minister’s participation underscores Sierra Leone’s growing commitment to global partnerships that drive innovation, food security, and economic empowerment.
