Airtel Sierra Leone has given a huge financial support to restore the Sierra Leone Female Musicians Association.
This group was formally introduced to journalists in a press conference held at Airtel headquarters, Hill Station in Freetown on Friday 23rd October, 2015.
The Sierra Leone Female Musicians Association will be officially launch on Friday 6th November 2015 at the Family Kingdom, Aberdeen in Freetown.
In his statement, Airtel Marketing Communications Manager, Mr. Mohamed Kallon said his company has a strong relationship with the entertainment industry in the country. Mr. Kallon also said over the years Airtel has been working closely with several musicians in a bid to achieve their dreams.
He further noted that they are currently using Sierra Leonean musicians as the company’s brand Ambassadors for which each of them received five thousand United State Dollars ($5000). The Marketing Communication Manager assured that Airtel will continue to boost the entertainment industry especially the musicians.
The President of the Sierra Leone Musicians Association, Mrs. Cordelia Sankoh said the group has been in existence since 2008, but it was only effective in 2014. Mrs. Sankoh said immediately she was elected President of the association in 2014, she wasted no time in registering it and also made sure that the launching is done soonest.
She further explained that “our aim is profit making so that we seek the welfare of the membership through advocacy on issues that have to do with development in the country. We will also work in partnership with the government and non- governmental agencies”, She concluded
