At the ongoing 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, Mayor of Freetown, Her Worship Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr has met with American entrepreneur, investor and executive chairman of Amazon, Jeff Bezos.
As another flagship of Mayor’s #TransformFreetown agenda, Her Worship Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr has planted 500,000 trees in the municipality of Freetown, the capital city of Sierra Leone. The plan is to plant 1,000,000 trees in which 500,000 have been planted.
However, Her Worship had a discussion with Jeff Bezos where they discussed about the design, implementation and monitoring of #FreetownTheTreeTown as she planned to transform the city to green and fight against climate change.
