Sierra Leone’s Presidential Spokesman, Alhaji Alpha Kanu, made a fervent appeal for unity during a national press conference. Addressing the nation, he urged those on the opposing side to collaborate with President Julius Maada Bio in advancing the development of Sierra Leone, particularly in realizing the ambitious FEED SALONE agenda.
Emphasizing the President’s mandate, Kanu asserted that President Bio had been chosen twice both by the divine will of Almighty God and the collective will of the Sierra Leonean people to guide the nation. He called upon citizens to transcend political divides and work together for the greater good.
He emphasized, “let’s not be like our forefathers who were chasing their own prophets. Jesus was chased by his own people likewise Prophet Mohammed was also chased by his own people, all other prophets have been chased away by their people, but here in Sierra Leone we will not allow unpatriotic people to chase away President Bio because he is an assert with international recognition”
Drawing parallels with historical figures, Kanu cautioned against replicating the mistakes of forefathers who opposed their own prophets. He cited examples such as Jesus and Prophet Mohammed, who faced resistance from their own people. Kanu passionately declared that Sierra Leone would not allow unpatriotic individuals to undermine President Bio’s leadership, highlighting the international recognition and stature the President holds.
In his plea for national unity, the Spokesman urged citizens to rise above divisive tendencies, emphasizing that the nation’s progress hinged on collective efforts. The call to support the FEED SALONE agenda was positioned as a crucial step towards fostering socio-economic development.
As Sierra Leone stands at a crossroads, Alpha Kanu’s impassioned appeal seeks to bridge gaps and foster collaboration, emphasizing that the success of President Bio’s leadership is intertwined with the collective dedication of the Sierra Leonean people.
