Sierra Leone’s Presidential Spokesman, Alhaji Alpha Kanu, widely known as Alpha Khan, reacted worriedly to the news of the failed attempted coup on November 26th during a press briefing held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The briefing was held in response to the alleged attempted coup. During the engagement, Alpha Khan told the press that the recent attempted coup poses a threat to the West African nation.
Speaking on the severity of the matter, Alpha Khan applied a metaphorical analogy, describing the assailants of the attempted coup to fierce foxes and the citizens to hens or chickens.
He went on to appreciate the brave security forces for their swift response to safeguarding the country and its people, preventing the assailants from causing harm and disrupting peace.
He also praised the President’s effort to maintaining peace and stability, asserting that “President Bio remains resolute in safeguarding the lives and properties of Sierra Leoneans and is committed to upholding peace and national unity.”
Kanu further praised the citizens’ commitment to maintaining law and order, demonstrating a unified stance in supporting President Bio’s efforts towards peace and national unity.
He concluded by urging the security forces to investigate thoroughly and brought to book all those found wanting in the attempted coup.
