The newly appointed Resident Minister of cabinet rank – Northwest Region, Hon. Alhaji Alpha Khan has praised His Excellency President Brig (Rtd) Julius Maada Bio for his policy of inclusive governance.
At the handing over ceremony, the erstwhile Resident Minister –Northwest Region, Haja Isata Abdulai Kamara, who is now the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, noted that though she has done her own bit, Hon. Alpha Khan will do better because he hails from that district and region with much knowledge and experience about them.
“You are everything about Northwest because you have been here longer,” she said, adding that she had issues to discuss in private with him that are pointers that would bring him down or take him to higher height.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Alpha Khan took the opportunity to thank the Almighty Allah to have allowed him to get to this point and to be given such an important position in his own homeland.
He then thanked His Excellency President Bio for looking at all the people in the Northwest and saying that he will choose Alpha Khan to represent him in the Northwest even though his official political party is the APC.
Hon. Alhaji Alpha Khan commented that the President is a man with a big heart to accelerate and increase national development, irrespective of who you are.
He also thanked the Honorable Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, who he called a brother, father and everything in the Northwest Region.
Hon. Alhaji Alpha Khan explained how since becoming Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has shown tremendous interest in Port Loko district in particular and the Northwest Region in general, adding that VP Jalloh has never relented in trying to bring people onboard his development strides.
VP Jalloh, Hon. Khan said, has said that in Port Loko and the Northwest, there is one party and that party is the Northwest Development Party headed by His Excellency President Bio.
Hon. Alpha Khan concluded by stating that “as Sierra Leoneans, we are all striving to move the nation forward”.
