On Tuesday, 3rd June 2025, marked the first step in the Ambassador-designate to Belgium becoming the official Sierra Leonean Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium.

Ambassador Jusu presented his letter of credence to Ambassador Pierre Cartuyvels, the Chief of Protocol for Belgium.

During the presentation, the Ambassador-designate conveyed his gratitude for the reception and expressed his desire for an ongoing positive relationship with the Directorate.

He highlighted that Sierra Leone, as a small nation, can sometimes be overlooked in international discussions, particularly concerning Belgium’s partnerships with other countries.

It is for this reason that Sierra Leone is keen to partner with an institute like Belgium, seeking their advice and support. He stated.

The Ambassador-designate also discussed the increasing complexity of modern diplomacy, emphasising the need for diplomats to be well-informed about developments across different Countries.

Finally, responding to Sierra Leone Ambassador, Ambassador Cartuyvels then outlined the protocol the Ambassador-designate should observe in the coming weeks as he awaits the presentation of his credentials to the King.
