Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the European Union, Philip Bob Jusu, has held a series of introductory meetings with key EU officials in preparation for his official presentation of credentials.
Ambassador Jusu met with the Chiefs of Protocol for the European External Action Service (EEAS), Ambassador Lucie Samcová-Hall Allen, and the European Commission, Ambassador Pernilla Sjolin. The discussions provided an opportunity to brief EU officials on the Mission’s mandate, which includes overseeing relations with the Benelux countries, Greece, and the Vatican.
Highlighting the importance of “intentional collaboration” with EU institutions, Ambassador Jusu expressed his commitment to strengthening Sierra Leone’s engagement with both the EEAS and the European Commission.
EU officials welcomed the initiative, pointing to the Global Gateway as a prime example of ongoing cooperative efforts between Sierra Leone and the European Union.
