The outgoing US Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Ambassador David Reimer has sent his farewell to the people of Sierra Leone.

He made this call on a video that the US Embassy in Sierra Leone shared on social media where the Ambassador explained a lot about his experience in the country.

He said, “As my time here as Ambassador in Sierra Leone draws to a close, I want to thank the people of Sierra Leone for the hospitality and kindness that they have shown me for the past 2 and a half years. It has been an incredible privilege to serve as a bridge between our two countries fostering deeper ties understanding and cooperation. During my time here I have been deeply touched by the strength and spirit of the Sierra Leonean people. The country’s culture, tradition and history have left a mark on me. I have the honor of witnessing your commitment to progress and your ability to overcome challenges with unwavering results. We have achieved a lot together through our continued collaboration in health and promoting investment in Sierra Leone to our culture and exchange programs while there have been ups and downs us has been a constant partnership. While my time here as Ambassador might be concluded,  my affection for Sierra Leone and its people will endure. I look forward to seeing the continued growth and success of this nation. I am confident you will find the incoming Ambassador, Bryan Hunt, to be an outstanding representative to the United States and Sierra Leone leading an embassy team and continuing to nurture our relationship I trust that you will welcome him as you welcome me. Again I want to express my gratitude for this remarkable experience. May the friendship in our nations remain steadfast and enduring.”
