Abubakarr Karim Kamara, APC Communications leader, has questioned President Bio’s dedication to fighting drug abuse in Sierra Leone.

Commenting on the President’s state opening of parliament speech, Kamara described it as ironic given the ongoing drug abuse crisis in the country.

He cited the Netherlands’ extradition request for Europe’s most wanted drug kingpin to illustrate his point, arguing that this situation underscores Sierra Leone’s reputation as a haven for drug lords.

Abubakarr Kamara emphasized the contradiction in the President’s statements, saying, “The President Bio condemns drugs but see the irony. This is a country believed to be hosting one of the biggest drug lords, for whom the Attorney General of Justice has communicated to us that the country has received extradition papers from the Dutch government. They believe this person is Umaru Sheriff, known as Jos Leijdekkers, and he is said to have a safe harbor here. You come to tell us no to drugs, but your country is a haven for drug lords.”

In conclusion, Kamara’s critique highlights concerns regarding the effectiveness of the government’s anti-drug policies and raises questions about the credibility of the President’s stance in light of ongoing challenges facing Sierra Leone’s drug crisis.
