As the June 2023 elections draw closer, the main opposition party, All Leople’s Congress (APC) will today 20th February 2023 elect its presidential flagbeares in Makeni to represent the party at the upcoming elections.

On Thursday 16th February 2023, Justice Hannah Bonnie slammed an injunction on the APC National Delegates Conference (NDC) hours before its commencement which was scheduled for the 17th to 19th February 2023.

The injunction news was not a welcoming one by the APC members and supporters wherein an appeal was made by the APC which led Justice Bonnie on Friday 17th February 2023 to lift the injunction allowing the NDC to commence on the 18th to 20th February 2023.

A report from Makeni northern Sierra Leone said some delegates and flagbearers aspirants have thrown their support for Dr. Samura Kamara.

The report also stated that the township of Makeni is jam-packed with thousands of APC members and supporters to support their different candidates.

According to information, after the election, APC members are expected to return to Freetown on Tuesday 21st February 2023.
