The Sierra Leone has released the Spokesman of the opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Sidi Yayah Tunis from detention.

The spokesman was detained at the Criminal Investigation Department on 8th February, 2022 after he was invited by the Sierra Leone Police.

His detention was due to an interview he granted on 98.1FM Radio Democracy where he stated that his party will do everything possible to redeem the people of Sierra Leone. This statement was seen as an incitement to the public by the Sierra Leone Police. The Police invited him at CID for questioning and later detained him.

After spending about 24 hours in detention, Sidi Yayah Tunis has been released.
