The All Peoples Congress (APC) Secretary General Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh on Wednesday handed over the just adopted constitution to the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC) Chairman at his State Avenue Office.
Making the presentation, Alhaji Osman Yansaneh said that the court gave them an order to choose delegates that will go to the conference to adopt the constitution. This he said they did within the time frame and they were able to assemble in Makeni where during the three days, the delegates’ conference was held from the 17th September to the 19th.
“The delegates did their best and the constitution was scrutinized and some changes were made until the final document was adopted. Members of the party were happy that the process was done amicably and that the party is able to produce a constitution when adopted will be a fine working document for the party and the country.”
The Secretary General averred that after doing all the necessaries they are now happy and that is the reason why they are handing over the final document to the PPRC so that it will be gazetted and after the required time it will become the party’s new constitution that they will use to conduct the lower level elections.
Awoko reports that He thanked the PPRC chairman for his support throughout the period and they hope to receive such support from him in the future.
PPRC Chairman Mr. Abdullai Masiambay Bangurah thanked the APC for obeying the court order and doing what is required of them.
“As you all know the PPRC too is part of the court order and we have been working together to make sure that we do not fall prey to the law. I was particularly impressed by the successful delegates conference, which shows that your party is ready for a new constitution. I do hope that when it becomes law you will have a good document that will help restructure the party.”
He thanked the party for obeying the court order and said if there is any information it will be relayed to them in due course.
