The Academic Staff Association (ASA) of Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology (EBKUST), Port Loko Campus, has officially conducted its handing-over and oath-taking ceremony for a new executive led by Mr Abdul Karim Koroma.
The ceremony took place on Wednesday, 25th February 2026, at the Wisdom Centre on campus.
In his farewell statement, the outgoing President, Mr James Sasay Kanu, expressed appreciation to members of the association for their support and cooperation throughout his tenure. He highlighted some of the achievements recorded under his leadership and acknowledged the challenges the association faced. Mr Kanu called on members to continue supporting the new executive in the interest of unity, stability, and progress.
The newly elected President, Mr. Abdul Karim Koroma, in his acceptance speech, thanked members for the trust and confidence reposed in him. He pledged to prioritize staff welfare, strengthen collaboration between the association and the university administration, and work closely with his executive team to advance the goals of ASA.

The highlight of the event was the formal oath-taking session, during which the new executive members solemnly swore to uphold the constitution of the Academic Staff Association and to serve with integrity, transparency, and dedication.
The ceremony attracted academic staff and members of the association who gathered to witness the peaceful transition of leadership within ASA at the Port Loko Campus.
