Seasoned Broadcaster, Asmaa James has announced that she will depart Radio Democracy 98.1 FM by the end of September after an impressive 22yrs of service .

She further revealed that she will embrace new adventures, challenges and wins in her new path.

She writes on social media, “There is a time and a season for everything under the Sun.
Twenty-two (22) years it has been… years of learning & growth. By the end of September 2023, I will end my journey at Radio Democracy 98.1FM to face a season of new adventures, challenges and wins! Exploring the road not take that will undoubtedly lead to somewhere.

Asmaa James is an award-winning media personality, girls advocate and philanthropist, with over 20years of experience in Broadcast Journalism and Management. Asmaa is the station manager of Radio Democracy 98.1 FM.

She is the Founder of the AJ Foundation and Girls+ Organization, which empowers women and girls through mentorship, Scholarship, and life skills training. Asmaa has in-depth knowledge and passion for, the entertainment industry, sport and youth development programmes for many years.

Asmaa is the recipient of various national and international awards, and in 2019 she was recognized as a social change-Maker in the 21st century by The BBC 100 Women. She is a Mandela Washington Fellow and is recognized as one of the 50 influential women in Sierra Leone.

Asmaa‘s departure will mark the end of an era at Radio Democracy and her fans will be looking forward to her new adventures.
