Social Media Blogger, Hawanatu Konneh has firmly denied allegations made by former Minister of Social Welfare, Mustapha Bai Atilla who accused her of advising him against marrying his wife and attacking him during a recent incident.
Konneh, in a detailed statement, clarified her position, stating that she is neither a friend to Mr. Atilla nor his wife, Monica.
Konneh recounted the events of the day in question, explaining that she had visited Monica on a Sunday to congratulate her on the birth of her twins, following an invitation from Monica. Upon arrival, Konneh said Monica asked her to go live on social media, which was the first time she became aware that Monica was experiencing domestic violence at home.
During the live broadcast, Monica tearfully recounted the abuse she had been suffering. Konneh alleges that while they were conducting the interview, Mr. Atilla arrived at the scene and forcefully pushed her down the stairs, causing her to fall. She categorically denied the accusation that she had attacked Mr. Atilla, stating that the claim was entirely false.
In the course of her live session, Konneh also played an audio recording in which Monica could be heard informing her that Atilla had broken a bottle, tied it to his clothes, and went to the police in an attempt to create further trouble for her. Monica reportedly asked Konneh to keep the recording as evidence.
