In a dramatic court hearing on Thursday, Corporal Alfred Methodist Kargbo recounted his experience during a purported coup attempt in November 26, 2023.

Kargbo, a military officer stationed at the 5th Battalion Wilberforce barracks, testified that he was threatened and forced to participate in the plot by Captain Senessie, who is currently at large.

Kargbo’s testimony detailed the events of November 25th, when he observed suspicious activity at the barracks. He described seeing Captain Senessie arrive in a vehicle and, later, being threatened with a gun if he refused to join the coup attempt aimed at overthrowing President Bio.

According to Kargbo, he was ordered to disarm other soldiers and break into the ammunition store. He described fearing for his life and being forced to comply with the armed individuals. He eventually managed to escape and alert authorities, leading to the investigation and subsequent court proceedings.

The cross-examination by defense lawyers focused on specific details of Kargbo’s account.

The next hearing is scheduled for January 31st, where the cross-examination will continue.
