A recent visit by the African Union Delegation to the Minister of Gender and Children’s Affairs, Isata Mahoi, has paved the way for a productive dialogue centered on developmental goals.
The key point of the meeting was the delegation’s strong affirmation of their commitment and support towards the implementation of recommendations by the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC) in the nation. This move aims to ensure sustainable development that benefits everyone.
ACERWC is a pivotal body within the African Union. Its primary responsibility is to oversee and monitor the adherence and realization of the African Charter on the rights and welfare of the child.
Furthermore, the upcoming 42nd ordinary session of the ACERWC is eagerly anticipated. Scheduled from 8th to 17th November 2023, this crucial meeting will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
During the delegation’s engagement with Minister Mahoi, there was also a comprehensive briefing. Topics covered included the progress of various missions, interactions with stakeholders, and plans for child welfare workshops.
