Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, recently met with Ahunna Eziakonwa, the Chief of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Africa. The meeting focused on fostering youth development in Sierra Leone.
Minister Bah described the discussion with Eziakonwa as “productive” and expressed his enthusiasm for future collaboration. He emphasized the critical role of “intentional investment” in changing young people’s mindsets as a key driver of Africa’s transformation.
Minister Bah highlighted how President Bio’s decision to establish a dedicated Ministry of Civic Education aligns with this vision. He expressed confidence that Sierra Leone and the UNDP can build on their existing strong relationship to advance this model of youth development.
Minister Bah concluded his remarks on social media, expressing his and his colleague Minister of Youth Affairs, Mohamed Bangura’s excitement about the “prospects” stemming from the discussion.
