President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, in his capacity as Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government and President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, has arrived in Conakry to attend the inauguration of General Mamady Doumbouya.

The inauguration follows Guinea’s presidential election held on December 28, 2025, and the subsequent proclamation of the final results by the Supreme Court on January 4, 2026.

President Bio’s presence at the ceremony underscores the role of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in supporting constitutional order, democratic governance, and regional stability across the sub-region.

The inauguration ceremony is expected to bring together regional leaders, senior government officials, and international partners, marking a significant moment in Guinea’s political transition following the conclusion of the electoral process.
