President Bio Names EBK University Port Loko Branch After Former President Kabbah
Binta Koroma The Port Loko Branch of the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology has been officially made a stand-alone University.
The new University has been named by the President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio, in honor of the late former President, Ahmad Tejan Kabbah who served twice as the 3rd President of Sierra Leone, from 1996 to 1997 and again from 1998 to 2007.
It was named after the former president, Ahmed Tejan Kabbah for his effort to end the 11-year civil war in Sierra Leone in 2002.
The Ahmad Tejan Kabbah University of Education and Technology is the first University in the Northwest Region of the county.
This development was achieved through the effort of the Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Dr. Alpha Tejan Wurie, who succeeded in convincing the cabinet to delink the Port Loko Branch of the EBK University to make it a stand-alone University in the Northwest Region.
The right thing has been done and thank you president Bio for honouring the man who brought us peace through your efforts.

President Bio should have profound his own university and given it that name instead of politicizing the institution by removing it name.. This is not good for our country. And tomorrow again when Other party came in to power the name itself will be changed.

If I were Dr. Samura, as soon as I assume office hours after June 24 2023 pols. I will rename the whole of bonth district as ‘Joseph Saidu Momoh District’.
In memories of the late true father of democracy. Who brought us the 1991 constitution, that allowed Sierra Leone to back into multi party democracy. Which gives the ways for Tejan kabba, Ernest Bai Koroma and Maada Bio to be president of Sierra Leone.
The President didn’t change The Ernest B. Koroma University but deliquesced The Port Loko University to stand at its own and called it Alhaji Tejan Kabba University! So this is my intake!!!

That branch is EBK has been enacted as law in the Well of Parliament from 2017-18, changing its name today by words or paper without going through the Well of Parliament, what weight or value would it add? And there are students in that constituent University 🎓 as EBK, where the university court and under which law?

EBK didn’t build those universities he only upgraded them and change the names, even the former northern Polly technical institute in makeni was there for long time as the only college in the northern region but was upgraded to a university and change the name to EBK University

Did Bai Koroma constructed a university of his own or only gave a name I mean his name to the said structure. Was it not the only Muslim college he rename it.
The development strides of the Bio administration can’t get compare to the 11yrs anarchy regime of the EBK.

As long as it has been up graded to an accredited university that stands alone. Itshould be changed and it should also be delinked completely from the EBK university.It is a good move in the right direction.
Ernest Bai Koroma University was an existing institution that EBK renamed. He never built a university.

The right thing is yet done please for the fact that, the college was named Arabic institution should still continue please for the sake of God. Because we have a lot of Bible study institution.
