President Julius Maada Bio on Monday, January 12, 2026, officially bade farewell to the outgoing Chief Executive Officer of Orange Sierra Leone, Sekou Amadou Bah, and welcomed the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, Madam Aicha Toure, during a courtesy visit at State House.

Speaking during the engagement, President Bio affirmed the importance of improved service delivery and affordable pricing in the telecommunications sector, noting that access to reliable and competitively priced services remains critical for citizens across the country.

According to the President, telecommunications companies such as Orange Sierra Leone play a key role in national development, particularly in supporting communication, digital inclusion, and economic activity. He emphasized that the expectations of citizens must remain central to the operations of major service providers.

President Bio also reassured the leadership of Orange Sierra Leone of the Government’s commitment to creating and sustaining an enabling environment that supports private sector investment.

He said the Government continues to prioritize policies that encourage growth, competition, and innovation, while ensuring that businesses operate in ways that benefit the wider population.

The President expressed appreciation to Mr. Bah for his service and contribution to the telecommunications sector during his tenure and extended a warm welcome to Madam Toure as she assumes leadership of the company.

He expressed confidence that the new CEO would build on existing gains and strengthen Orange Sierra Leone’s contribution to national development.
