President Julius Maada Bio harvested his farm located at Mafintha, Masiaka. The event, which has drawn attention across the country, highlights President Bio’s commitment to promoting food security and encouraging sustainable agriculture practices.
According to the Ministry of Education and Civic Education, the president’s farm is diverse, consisting of several agricultural ventures, including fish farming and poultry. The poultry section of the farm has been a standout success, reportedly producing over 600 eggs daily.
This level of productivity reflects not only on the president’s personal dedication to farming but also on the potential of local agricultural initiatives to contribute significantly to national food production.
The president’s fish farms have also thrived, adding another dimension to his agricultural enterprise. Fish farming, which has been identified as a crucial sector for the country’s food security, is part of Sierra Leone’s broader strategy to reduce reliance on imports and improve the local economy.
President Bio’s engagement in farming has set an example for citizens across Sierra Leone, demonstrating that agriculture can be a viable and profitable venture for individuals and the nation. By personally investing in and promoting farming, President Bio aligns with his government’s vision of empowering local farmers, boosting agricultural output, and ensuring food security.
The fools are fooling the smart ones
That’s a great example for our business people in Sierra Leone let take agriculture seriously
All these photos are real cause I was an eye witness, let’s come together and promote agriculture in our country,as HE Bio has set the bar
In as much as I applaud the President’s efforts , one should not forget that, he has a deeper pocket than all of us. He also commands the security sector to protect his firm. We all know that it can be done but farmers are always complaining that they do not have the support of government, to protect their farms.
If we are serious about farms, to cater for our demands , farming should be done in an industrial scale. We have the land for it but our government just concentrate on propaganda.
Kudos to our President ,we need your farm in all d districts sir.am afraid den nor go destroy dis farm tumara?
We also want to see the harvested produce from the Minister and Deputy of Agriculture
It is good indeed to invest in agriculture.
Agriculture pays a lot.
But one needs to get some capital when you want to invest in agriculture.
Lack of support from the government, and because farming is cost-effective, most of our farmers are embarking on subsistence farming, which does not produce enough to support them throughout the year.
As a result, most farmers in Sierra Leone often sleep on one square meal a day immediately after harvest.
I also suggest that the government and non-governmental organizations encourage farmers to consider cash crops, like, cocoa, cashew nut, kola, oil palm, tangerine/oranges, etc.
Thank you President Bio, you are a real example to reckon with, God bless and protect you and your model farm.
Impressive Mr President, thank u for taking the lead, and this can also create jobs as there are people employed for this, I hope we will extend this ideas to a broader scale as agriculture pays a lot.. God bless u and long live Mr President.
How much will he be selling the products and how many Sierra Leone and can afford to buy his fish or chickens. He is farming to ship the fish to China, so as to feed Chinese pigs-since Sierra Leone and frowned at his selling of the beach for a fish meal.
