President Bio Invites Samura Kamara For Peace Dialogue

President Julius Maada Bio has extended an official invitation to Dr. Samura Kamara for a National Unity and Peace Dialogue scheduled for Thursday, 2nd May 2024, at State House.

The invitation, conveyed through an official letter, outlines the purpose of the meeting, focusing on pertinent issues concerning the continued operations of the Tripartite Committee, particularly Resolution (3) of the Agreement for National Unity.

Resolution (3) of the Agreement established a Three-way Committee comprising representatives from the Government of Sierra Leone (GOSL), the All People’s Congress (APC), and Development Partners. This committee, operational since January 2024, is mandated to function for six months, with activities slated for completion by June 2024.

With progress noted thus far, the upcoming dialogue aims to address any lingering or emerging concerns, including discussions surrounding the proposal for an “Expanded Committee.” The meeting will be attended by two lead negotiators, three co-chairs, and other committee members.

The venue for this pivotal dialogue is set for the Conference Room at the Office of the Chief Minister, State House, Freetown, commencing at 11:00 am on Thursday, 2nd May 2024. Attendees are requested to confirm their participation with the Programme Assistant to the Chief Minister.

We should have finished with Resolution 3 by now. Maada Bio wants to take us back to Resolution 3 which talks about Peace and Unity.The ApC has done what they were supposed to do but Maada Bio has not done what they were to do to reach Resolution 3. . However, the people of Sierra Leone are patiently waiting for the Recommendations of the Tripartite Committee. we the people of Sierra Leone only want to hear Honest, Transparent and Evidence_based Results that are based on their findings. We have waited so long and have been very patient to hear what the Committee will come up with.. We even expect Maada Bio (, that Bonthe village bluffer) not to accept or implement the recommendations of the Tripartite Committee, that is the Time Maada will know and understand the Sierra Leoneans better. Maada Bio has forgotten what happened in 1996; when he was preaching " Peace before Elections," and the people of Sierra Leone insisted on "Elections before Peace" Maada Bio must now know that the people of Sierra Leone no longer needs him. My response goes directly to ED Let us accept the reality that we are all Sierra Leoneans and that's how nature defines us so there is nothing we can do about that...irrespective of your political or tribal sentiment.
