President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, His Excellency, Julius Maada Bio, joined returned Hajj Pilgrims at their Jumah prayer at State House, on Friday, 11 July 2025.

According to President Bio, he describes the engagement and prayer season is a significant spiritual upliftment.

‘’A moment filled with deep significance and spiritual connection. It’s truly uplifting to witness the Muslim community coming together to embrace this vital aspect of their faith. ‘’

President Bio further stated that ‘’we pray that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala grants us all our hearts’ desires and answers our prayers. May we continue to experience His peace and blessings in our lives. ‘’

We remain dedicated to ensuring that Sierra Leoneans have a smooth and meaningful experience as they perform Hajj.

The pilgrimage took place between the 8th and 12th of Dhul-Hijjah, which corresponds to June 4th to 9th, 2025.

Additionally, the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage saw over 1.67 million pilgrims participate in the rituals, according to Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Statistics. This included over 1.5 million international pilgrims and around 166,654 domestic pilgrims. The Hajj, a pillar of Islam, is a sacred journey for Muslims.
