Unexpectedly, Saudi Arabia has opted to postpone the highly awaited fifth Saudi-Arab summit initially scheduled for this Friday, a summit Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio was on his way to attend.

The nation will host emergency summits by the Arab League and the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation on Friday and Saturday. The primary agenda for these impromptu gatherings is to address the escalating conflict in Gaza

Unfortunately, Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio, who was in Morocco, was en route to the now-postponed summit. Concurrently, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Musa Timothy Kabba, had already arrived in Saudi Arabia, eagerly anticipating the now-delayed summit.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia will also host the Saudi-Africa summit for the first time, following in the footsteps of Egypt, Libya, Equatorial Guinea, and Kuwait.
