Former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete responded to President Bio following their recent meeting on September 22, 2023, alongside the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Board of Directors.

President Bio expressed his appreciation for Jakaya Kikwete’s receptiveness during the meeting and expressed his readiness to collaborate with him. He emphasized his government’s ongoing commitment to education investment, focusing on foundational learning, comprehensive inclusion, and gender equality.

President Bio eagerly accepted the opportunity to work with Jakaya Kikwete and the GPE to advance global education rights and transform educational systems, aiming to bolster economic prosperity and create more equitable and stable societies.

In reply to President Bio’s remarks, Jakaya Kikwete stated, “It was a pleasure meeting with President Bio. Sierra Leone leads the way in advocating for education and is a crucial partner for the Global Partnership for Education. I eagerly anticipate strengthening this robust partnership during the African Union Year of Education.”
