Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio will officially launch the production of identification cards (ECOWAS, National, and Non-National) on Monday 30 January 2023.
Speaking on the procedures, National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) Director General, Mohamed Mubashri Massaquoi stated that National Identity Card is mandatory and has a life span of five years. He added that it can be accessed in all NCRA branches across the country.
He further stated that the Non-National Identity Card is also mandatory for Non-Nationals with a life span of one year.
He also disclosed that Non-National Identity Card is a requirement for Residential and Work Permit.
Massaquoi ended by assuring Sierra Leones that the Identity Cards are of high quality with resounding security features and specifications that are in line with international standards.
