His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio today received the Letters of Credence from His Excellency Dr. Pascal Richter, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Sierra Leone, during an official ceremony held at State House in Freetown.
The presentation marks the official commencement of Ambassador Richter’s diplomatic tenure in Sierra Leone and reaffirms the strong and enduring relationship between the two nations.
In a statement shared after the ceremony, President Bio expressed his honor and pleasure in welcoming Ambassador Richter to Sierra Leone, describing the event as a testament to the longstanding friendship and fruitful cooperation that have characterized relations between Sierra Leone and Germany.
“Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Sierra Leone and Germany have enjoyed a robust and enduring friendship, marked by fruitful cooperation on various global matters and the strengthening of our bilateral bonds across multiple sectors,” President Bio stated.
The President noted that Sierra Leone continues to value Germany as a key development partner, particularly in areas such as education, governance, infrastructure, renewable energy, and economic reform. He emphasized his government’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties and exploring new opportunities for partnership that align with Sierra Leone’s national development priorities.
Ambassador Dr. Pascal Richter, in presenting his credentials, conveyed warm greetings from the Government and people of Germany, expressing his determination to build on the strong foundation of cooperation that already exists between the two countries. He underscored Germany’s commitment to supporting Sierra Leone’s development agenda and strengthening collaboration on issues of global peace, sustainable growth, and democratic governance.
