Mohamed Lamin Tarawally has been shown the exit door as Sierra Leone’s Attorney-General And Minister of Justice.
He became the fourth minister appointed and was sacked in that capacity since President Bio’s administration started nearly six years ago
Tarawally was appointed as Sierra Leone’s Attorney-General and Minister of Justice on January 18, 2022 replacing Anthony Yeiwoh Brewah who was also sacked under controversial circumstances concerning his involvement in the Presidential Pardon granted to ex-convict LAC.
Prior to his appointment as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Tarawally served in the capacity of the Solicitor General of Sierra Leone, a position he held for over two years.
His replacement is the current Deputy Minister, Alpha Sesay becoming the fifth person to hold the post in just six years.
The position of Attorney General is unique within the Sierra Leone government as it does not require parliamentary approval. Instead, the appointee is sworn in directly by the President, which enables swift appointments but has also led to turnover in the role.
The first individual to occupy the position under President Bio was Charles Margai, leader of the Peoples Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) and one of Sierra Leone’s most experienced legal figures.
He was succeeded by Priscilla Shwartz, Lawyer Anthony Brewah and Mohamed Lamin Tarawally.
I don’t see nothing wrong with it …. Most of them were informed about the time you are to served ….whatever they are doing , it’s in the best interest of the citizens .. .that is all I know
