President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone confirmed today that he hosted and welcomed a distinguished delegation from the ECOWAS Commission and the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on November 27, 2023, in response to the aftermath of Sunday’s crisis in Freetown.

The delegation included notable figures such as Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Defense Staff General Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Military Intelligence Major General Emmanuel Udiandeye, and President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr Omar Alieu Touray, among others.

The high-powered delegation conveyed a message of solidarity from the Chairman of the ECOWAS Committee of Heads of State and President of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, along with messages from other ECOWAS Heads of State and Government.
