The Bo District Council has disclosed that there will free hernia and hydrocele surgeries at the Bo Government Hospital on Monday 23rd January this year.

The Chairman of the Council, Joseph Munda Bindi disclosed that the council collaborated with some Italians in order to render this service to people of the district and that 100 people will benefit from it.

Chairman Bindi noted that screening process has already started and that patients will be treated on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The council stated that the Mercy United Methodist Church Hospital will also be used as a centre for the surgery.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, Hernia is a condition in which an internal organ pushes through a weak spot in one’s muscle or tissue. It is believed that some Sierra Leoneans are suffering from it because they couldn’t afford the fund for a surgery.
