The Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Demby and His Deputy Princess Dugba are both in Bo to observe the health condition of school pupils that were injured at the Bo Stadium this afternoon.

According to Ministry of Information and Communication, the minister and his deputy are there “to ensure maximum care is taken of the affected children and to coordinate the response.”

Earlier in the afternoon, scores of schoolchildren were at the Bo Sport Stadium to benefit from the distribution of free sanitary pads from the President and his wife, Fatima Bio.

Reports state that it was during the ceremony that one of the guard rails in the stadium gave away injuring several children who were leaning on it.

The President, reacting to the incident, said that the affected would be taken care of and that his government will continue to monitor the situation.

In other news, popular Sierra Leonean academic, Dr. John Idris Lahai has claimed that the First Lady was warned not to host ththe event at the Bo stadium but refused to heed.
