Chief Ibrahim Brima Swaray has provided support to a group of government pin-coded teachers at the Municipal Primary School in Burma, Kenema City, following concerns over their removal from the government payroll.

The affected teachers, seven women and two men, had faced financial difficulties after their names were reportedly deleted from the payroll system. Many of them, particularly single mothers, raised concerns about their ability to provide for their families.

On Saturday, 27th September 2025, Chief Swaray’s team delivered 50kg bags of rice and cash contributions to the teachers as a form of assistance while they continue to await resolution of their situation.

The teachers described the gesture as timely, noting that it offered relief at a period of uncertainty.

Authorities have yet to issue a formal statement regarding the payroll issue that left the teachers without pay
