The British High Commission of Sierra Leone has issued a message of condolence to the friends and families of the servicemen who died defending unjustifiable Violence on 26 November.

On December 6, 2023, the Commission twitted, “At today’s Funeral Service, the UK remembers those who gave their lives defending against unjustifiable violence on 26 Nov. Our deepest condolences and thoughts are with families, friends, and all that have been affected by their loss”

The Embassy tweet came as President Dr Julius Maada Bio  joined mourners, family members, well-wishers and Sierra Leoneans at the inter-faith funeral service of the 18 security personnel killed during the 26 November violence  in Freetown.

The President stated that they killed in action, among them 15 members of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces, 2 officers of the Sierra Leone Police and a member of the Sierra Leone Correctional Service, “stood steadfast in the face of treachery.
