The Senate Cloakroom has affirmed that Bryan David Hunt to be United States next Ambassador to Sierra Leone.

In a unanimous decision, Bryan David Hunt has been confirmed by a voice vote to serve as the Ambassador to the Republic of Sierra Leone, as announced by Senate Cloakroom. The confirmation, which took place through the Executive Calendar #221, highlights the Senate’s approval of Hunt’s appointment to represent the United States in the West African nation

Hunt was nominated by President Joe Biden months ago.

Virginian native is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, class of Minister Counselor, currently serves as the Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to the United States Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

Prior to that, Mr. Hunt, served as Director, Office of South Sudan and Sudan, Bureau of African Affairs, Department of State, Washington, D.C. and, also served as the State Department’s Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for East Africa and the Sudans.

Mr. Hunt will replace Ambassador David Reimer who has served the US mission in Sierra Leone for the past several years now
