The Budget Advocacy Network has issued a Press Release dated 9th July following it non-attendance of Government Weekly Press Conference.
The release was issued by BAN, Coordinator Abu Bakarr Kamara emphasizing that the absence was driven by Transparency and accountability.
The decision comes in response to the government’s refusal to make the Tribunal Report on the Suspended Auditor-General, Mrs. Lara Taylor-Pearce, and Deputy Auditor General , Mr Tamba Momoh, available to the Public.
“The reason for this is due to the non-availability of the tribunal report which is the subject of discussion for the press conference. We continue to call for transparency and adherence to due process and request that the detail report be made available to Mrs Lara Taylor Pearce, Mr. Tamba Momoh and the public,”-Kamara Stated .
The weekly Press Conference was organized by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education to address the Tribunal’s findings and the next step for the Auditor General’s Office.
