Children of Makeni and Bombali district by extension realized the beauty of Christmas just as usual with the reception of assorted gifts from the people’s honorable (Chericoco), honorable Chericoco (sponsor) in collaboration with the Makeni city council usually organize such an occasion for the children of Makeni and Bombali district at large on every boxing day for over 5 years now, toys of different types are distributed to the children.

The Mayor of the Makeni municipality ( madam Sunkarie Kabbah-Kamara) lavished praises to the people’s honorable (Chericoco) for his continuous and timely support towards the program every year since its inception and asked parents to remember the honorable in their prayers.

In his address as the keynote speaker, the erudite lawyer and politician ( Hon. Chericoco) as always, admonished the kids present to always obey elders in society and focus on their studies, he further told audience that the event will be changed from giving toys as gifts to distribution of educational items (ranging from school bags to books) next year, only children that will perform well in the various classes will be the beneficiaries in next year’s event and every child is expected to put more effort to stand a chance to benefit next year, the honorable emphasized.

Special gifts of brand new bicycles were given to the three candidates that scored the best results for the N.P.S.E in the district, fortunately they were all girls.
Mariama B. Daboh of UMC Primary Sch. (Agg. 326), Isha Thairu Sow of Tutorial Center for Academic Excellence ( Agg. 321) and Finah Koroma of the same school ( Agg. 319) were the best three candidates for the recent past NPSE, they therefore received the brand new bicycles.

The occasion was climaxed by the distribution of gifts to the kids, symbolically done by the great Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah (Chericoco) together with the Mayor of the City of Makeni ( Her worship Sunkarie Kabbah-Kamara)
