In a bold move to transform Sierra Leone’s educational landscape, Chief Minister Dr. Sengeh visits Magburaka, reaffirming the government’s commitment to modernizing schools and boosting human capital.
In Magburaka town, Dr. Sengeh, accompanied by Castleton Rhodes Commodities (LLC), conducted a site visit to the Magburaka Government Secondary School.
This visit is part of the broader Sierra Leone Education Sector Support Project, a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) and the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education (MTHE).
During the visit, Chief Minister Sengeh also convened a Steering Committee Meeting to review the project’s progress, discuss its scope, examine the bill of quantities (BOQ), identify challenges encountered, and determine necessary interventions to ensure the successful completion of projects across the country.
He emphasized that the Education Sector Support Project extends well beyond Magburaka, encompassing significant rehabilitation and construction efforts at several key institutions, including the Government Secondary Schools in Bo and Kenema, the Prince of Wales School in Freetown, Milton Margai Technical University, and Eastern Technical University in Kenema.
Furthermore, he highlighted that these initiatives reflect the government’s comprehensive approach to enhancing both secondary and higher education. The upgrades aim to equip educational institutions with modern facilities that foster effective learning and research.
Chief Minister Sengeh concluded by reaffirming that these investments are central to Sierra Leone’s Human Capital Development Agenda. He emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that every child and young person has access to quality education, laying the foundation for a brighter future for the nation.
