David Moinina Sengeh, Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister called on citizens to boycott a planned protest on Monday, September 11.

He urged the public to ignore rumours making rounds that on social media that Monday is a public holiday.

The Chief Minister maintained that, all public offices should be opened for regular daily activities as well as normal business transactions within the country. He added that the country is peaceful and remains peaceful at all times while revealing that different sectors have raised concerns and commit to maintain the peace and national cohesion.

“All public schools are open and in session. Tomorrow is NOT a holiday. All public services/institutions will be open. Tomorrow is NOT a holiday. Public transportation including okadas, kekehs issued notice of full operation. As citizens, we’ll show up. Peace will win,” he stated.
