Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, David Moinina Sengeh and other ministers in the sector have rolled out an engagement to discuss the local courts Act of 2011.
The Chief Minister called the engagement and meeting as bringing justice to the local level as that has to be universal and local.
The engagement incorporated the Chief Justice of Sierra Leone, Minister of Justice, Minister of Local Government and leaders of the Paramount Chief Council respectively.
The discussion captured the review of the act to ensure that justice is granted at the local level where majority of citizens will be able to seek an easy access to justice.
“This is part of our transformational big five agenda and we aim to deliver it within 3 months (we say these things so you can hold us accountable) together we’ll reform our justice systems to work for all,” the Chief Minister stated.
