The Chief Minister of Sierra Leone, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, has engaged key stakeholders on the implementation of the WanGov and GoPay services, aimed at enhancing public sector reform.
The initiative seeks to revolutionize public service delivery in line with President Julius Maada Bio’s Big Five Game Changers.
During a recent meeting, discussions centered around the rollout of WanGov & GoPay, a digital government platform that is poised to transform the way government services are provided. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of addressing public sector reform and leveraging technology to enhance government performance.
Representatives from various government ministries, including Finance, Transport, National Revenue Authority, Port Authority, and the Attorney General’s Office, were present at the meeting. WanGov & GoPay will serve as a unified platform that aims to improve government-citizen interactions, support service delivery, and revenue generation, and uphold law and order. The initiative is hoped to reshaping public administration and fostering citizen engagement.
Minister of Communication, Technology, and Innovation, Madam Haja Salima Monorma Bah, highlighted the significance of the platform in driving public sector reform. She emphasized how WanGov & GoPay enhance efficiency in service delivery and accessibility for citizens. Collaborations with key institutions such as the Administrator General’s Office, the Attorney General’s Office, SLRSA, and EDSA have already shown promising results. Similar systems have proven successful in countries like Rwanda, Kenya, and the UK.
Mr. Dama, from the Ministry of Communication, Technology, and Innovation, delivered a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation showcasing the functionalities of WanGov & GoPay. This platform will enable citizens to easily access, pay for, and track government services in real-time, ultimately improving overall service delivery and citizen experience.
