Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, David Moinina Sengeh, has responded to a social media threat from Joseph Christian Sartie, who identified himself as a staunch supporter of the SLPP (Sierra Leone People’s Party).

On Twitter now X, where the Chief minister posted about his engagement with the American Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Sartie commented on the post threatening the Government of Sierra Leone by saying “If una free EBK na we sef sef the loyal SLPPiers go go after this government.” In other words, if the Government of Sierra Leone led by President Bio, releases former President Ernest Bai Koroma, who has been charged with treason, they will go after the Government.

This comment left the Chief Minister in no doubt but to reply with a very hard statement saying “Threats of any kind by whoever against anyone is illegal. You have a responsibility within the law to behave well offline and online.”

Another commenter said that “You’re not a member of slpp and a good citizen. Be careful with such things you say.”
