Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh has drawn attention to the way he and Opposition Leader Hon. Abdul Kargbo were able to agree on some key issues during a recent visit to President Julius Maada Bio.

Sengeh and Kargbo were among a group of Members of Parliament from both the ruling SLPP and the opposition APC who met with the President to congratulate him on his new role as Chairperson of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.

After the meeting, Sengeh shared that while he and Kargbo often disagree, they also found that they see eye to eye on many other things. He said it’s clear that national development should be a shared goal, regardless of political differences.

Hon. Abdul Kargbo, who leads the opposition in Parliament, is known for playing a strong role in legislative discussions and representing his party’s position in national debates. His participation in the visit added weight to the message of cooperation across party lines.

Sengeh noted that when leaders focus on what they agree on, especially around the country’s development, they stand a better chance of making real progress. He encouraged support for the National Development Plan and said unity around this kind of work is possible.

While no formal commitments were made, the meeting stood out as a moment where the focus was not on party politics, but on moving the country forward.
